Adverse weather halts flights operation at Helsinki Airport

Flights operation at the Helsinki Airport remained suspended for two and a half hours due to freezing drizzle weather from late Friday night to early Saturday, said country´s airports operator Finavia.
The airport authority was forced to stop flights operation from Friday 10:00 pm to Saturday 12:30 am as the apron, runways and taxiways were extremely slippery.
Both the arriving and departing flights were interrupted during the period.
The arriving flights were diverted to other airports like Turku and Tampere-Pirkkala while the departing flights were either delayed or cancelled.
According to the weather forecast, the adverse weather conditions will continue and the urged the passengers to prepare themselves for delays also on Saturday.
