Taxi arrangement at Oulu, Rovaniemi airports to change on 1 Jan

Country´s airports operator Finavia has signed a contract with two taxi companies that will provide taxi services at Oulu and Rovaniemi airports from 1 January 2022, said Finavia in a press release on Monday.

Finavia’s goal is to improve the availability of taxis, especially during the busiest and quietest hours.

“We carried out competitive tendering for taxi services at Oulu and Rovaniemi airports so that passengers will be able to use smooth and functional taxi connections at all times of the day,” said Jani Jolkkonen, Finavia’s Senior Vice President of Airport Networks.

Finavia’s taxi partners at Oulu Airport are Mankkaan Taksi Oy and Menevä Oy. At Rovaniemi Airport, the service is provided by Menevä Oy. The taxi ranks of the contract taxis are located right in front of the main doors of the terminal.

Both Rovaniemi and Oulu airports also have spaces for other taxi companies’ cars, which will be able to drop off and pick up passengers as they have done in the past.

Passengers will continue to be free to choose the taxi company they wish to use. Both airports will continue to also have a separate reserved area for pre-booked taxis.
