Finnair will start collaborating with Bókun, an Iceland-based sales and contract management platform, for the tours and activities industry.

The collaboration aims to speed up digitalisation of tours and activities in Finland and to make various experiences easily available for international travellers, said a Finnair press release.

The sales and contract management software developed by Bókun ensures that tours and activity providers can manage their inventory in a digital format, making them easily available for customers to buy through their own web pages or through other service providers. Clients can receive payments and connect to one other to bundle products and cross-sell them as well.

“Bókun has been one of the catalysts of Iceland’s booming travel industry, and we believe it will also be beneficial for the Finnish travel industry, making tours and activities more accessible for our customers,” said Finnair Chief Digital Officer Katri Harra-Salonen.

“Travellers will appreciate that experiences are easily found and can be bought through different web pages, while various providers will be able to be more effective in their operations and to collaborate with one another,” said Salonen.

Finnair and Bókun will arrange a series of workshops for tour operators to familiarise them with the new software platform.
