Finnish airports see higher passengers in Apr but lower than 2019

A total of 1,131,132 passengers flew through Finnish airports in April 2022, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of passengers was five per cent bigger than in the previous month.

This was a multiple number compared to the previous year, but still only slightly over one-half of the number of passengers in April 2019.

Seventy-six per cent of the passengers made trips on international flights and 24 per cent on domestic flights.

The number was good one-half (53%) of the level in April 2019.

In April 2022, a total of 970,003 million passengers flew through Helsinki Airport and a total of 161,129 million passengers through other domestic airports.

Helsinki Airport accounted for 86 per cent of all passengers at domestic airports.

In April 2022, air freight and mail transport totalled 11,853 tonnes, which was 20 per cent less than one year earlier.
