Worker shortage may cause long queue at Helsinki Airport

The security control at Helsinki Airport is feared to become congested during the whole week from September 5–11 as a significant number of staff working at the Airport went on sick leave, said country´s airports operator Finavia on Monday.

The authority urged the passengers to arrive early at the airport, particularly during the morning between 5:00 am and 8:00 am and in the afternoon between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

Passengers are asked to follow the check-in times provided by your airline and reserve plenty of time for check-in and bag drop.

If the passengers travel with hand luggage, they are requested to check-in online in advance, if possible.

The passengers can continue directly to security control after arriving at the airport, if they don’t need to check-in and use the bag drop at the airport, said the Finavia in a press release.
