The departure of cruise ship Baltic Princess scheduled to resume service on Turku-Kapellskär route on Sunday after a renovation, had to cancel due to a technical glitch, said the owner of the ship Tallink Grupp in a press release.
The ship was scheduled to leave Turku at 6:30pm.
The authority urged about 540 passengers, who already bought tickets for the opening trip to get the money back or change the tickets for another trip at free of cost.
Tallink Silja said that the ship was undergoing renovation in Turku and expected to resume service from Turku port on Monday at 6:30 pm.
The ship authority apologized for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation.
The Baltic Princess went out of service on March 5 due to a schedule renovation on dry-dock in Naantali from March 6 to March 19.
During the dockings many technical upgrades and underwater hull works were carried out, including maintenance of the vessel’s bow thrusters and also the installation of ballast water treatment plant and commissioning, according to a previous press release issued by Tallink Silja on March 2.
