Baltic Princess resumes trip after 3 consecutive cancellations

The cruise ship Baltic Princess finally resumed its journey on Turku-Kapellskär route on Wednesday after cancellation of its pre-scheduled trips for three consecutive days from Sunday to Tuesday following a technical glitch, said the owner of the ship Tallink Grupp in a press release.
Earlier on the day, the authority fixed the glitch developed in its automation system and conducted trial operation in the sea to ensure the normal departure from Turku port at 6:30pm.
Although the authority announced to resume the normal service on Monday and Tuesday but finally had to cancel the trips on both the days after failure to complete the repairment as per the expectation.
The authority urged all the passengers, who already bought tickets for those days journey to get the money back or change the tickets for another trip at free of cost.
The ship authority apologized for the inconvenience caused by the cancellations.
The Baltic Princess went out of service on March 5 due to a schedule renovation on dry-dock in Naantali from March 6 to March 19.
During the dockings many technical upgrades and underwater hull works were carried out, including maintenance of the vessel’s bow thrusters and also the installation of ballast water treatment plant and commissioning, according to a previous press release issued by Tallink Silja on March 2.
