Rovaniemi-Madrid air route to open in Dec

The Spanish airline Iberia will launch a direct route from Rovaniemi to Madrid on December 2 this year, said country´s airports operator Finavia in a recent press release.

The route to the Spanish capital will be operated twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the winter season.

“We are very happy that Iberia will be the first airline to launch direct flights between Rovaniemi and Madrid! The route will also provide passengers with smooth onward connections to, for example, the Canary Islands and destinations in South America,” said Petri Vuori , Finavia’s Senior Vice President responsible for route development.

The route will be operated with the Airbus A320neo aircraft. The estimated flight time will be about five hours.
