Foreign tourist inflow rises by 8% in Nov

A total of 1.47 million overnight stays were recorded in Finland in November 2023, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of nights spent by resident tourists was 1.08 million and that of nights spent by non-resident tourists 0.40 million.
The total number of overnight stays was almost on level with the year before.
The number of overnight stays by resident tourists decreased by four per cent and that of overnight stays by non-resident tourists grew by eight per cent from the previous year.
In Lapland, the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists was 28 per cent higher than in the previous year.
The highest numbers of foreign visitors came from Great Britain, Germany and Sweden.
The occupancy rate of hotel rooms was 51 per cent, which is on level with November 2022.
The average price of a hotel room was EUR 123, having been EUR 120 one year earlier. The average price of a hotel room was highest in Lapland, EUR 167.
