About 200 Finland-bound passengers stranded in the Canary Islands for two days due to a technical glitch in the aircraft finally made it to Helsinki in the early hours of Monday, reported the local media.
According to the Flightrader website, a Finnair plane landed at Helsinki Airport at 2:22 am.
The flight departed from Gran Canaria for Helsinki at around 5.00 pm on Sunday which is after 7.00 pm Finnish time. The plane had a stopover in Bordeaux, France.
The passengers got stuck in the Spanish island on Saturday as a fault in the fuel system prevented their plane from taking off. The passengers were booked into hotels in the area.
The returnees are already on their way to their final destinations across the country.
