Most of the long-distance train services will resume on Thursday but some routes will have reduced frequencies or will be replaced by bus services, said national railway operator VR in a press release on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, tram, light rail and most bus services will remain suspended on Thursday like the previous day due to the ongoing strike, said the Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (Helsingin seudun liikenne- HSL).
Earlier, VR cancelled the long distance trains from Tuesday due to track damage at different areas.
The rail communication remained suspended across the country on Monday and Tuesday as the Railway Union Association (Rautatiealan Unioni Ry-RAU) observed a strike protesting against the labour market reforms and cuts in working condition undertaken by the Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party-NCP) led four-party alliance government.
