Lightning struck a Finnair Airbus A350 aircraft heading for Bangkok from Helsinki on Wednesday, reported the local media outlet MTV news.
The lightning struck the tail of the aircraft when the flight, AY141, was about to land in Bangkok, said the national flag carrier’s communication department.
The lightning strike caused delay in the return flight to Helsinki. According to Annina Metsola from Finnair, the delay was estimated to last 5 hours due to a routine inspection.
The return flight, AY142, was originally scheduled to depart Bangkok at 9:05 local time.
A total of 336 passengers were due to fly back aboard the return flight.
