German low-cost carrier Eurowings will operate scheduled flights from Hamburg to Kittilä and Rovaniemi during the next winter season, said country´s airports operator Finavia in a press release on Tuesday.
Eurowings currently offers eight routes from Germany to Finland for the next winter season.
Eurowings will fly both Kittilä and Rovaniemi routes twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The route between Hamburg and Kittilä will be flown from January 12 to March 26 March, and the route between Hamburg and Rovaniemi from January 15 to March 26.
In addition to the new openings, Eurowings will fly six routes to Finland next winter: from Düsseldorf to Kajaani, Ivalo, Kittilä, Kuusamo and Rovaniemi, and from Berlin to Helsinki Airport.
"Developing routes increase Lapland’s international appeal and are a testament to the good work we do together with our partners to improve Finland's accessibility. The Lufthansa Group, which also includes Eurowings, has already announced nine new routes from Europe to our airports in Lapland for next winter," said Petri Vuori, Finavia's Senior Vice-President responsible for route development.
