Finnish airports see higher passengers in November

A total of 1.6 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in November 2024 and the number is 11 per cent higher compared to November 2023, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of passengers on international flights increased by 10 per cent and on domestic flights by 15 per cent from the previous year.

In November 2024, Helsinki Airport accounted for 82 per cent of all passengers at domestic airports.

Seventy-seven per cent of the air traffic passengers travelled on international flights.

During January to November in 2024, the numbers of both air traffic passengers and freight and mail transport were higher than in the same period in 2023.

In November 2024, a total of 1.3 million passengers flew through Helsinki Airport and altogether 280,000 passengers flew through other domestic airports.

Compared to November 2023, the total number of passengers was 11 per cent higher at Helsinki Airport and 12 per cent higher at other domestic airports.

Seventy-seven per cent of the air traffic passengers travelled on international flights and 23 per cent on domestic flights in November.

The share of passengers on international flights was 86 per cent at Helsinki Airport and 35 per cent in total at other domestic airports. Of all passengers, 97 per cent travelled on scheduled flights.
