More passengers travel through Finnish airports in 2024

A total of 19.8 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in 2024, which was 7 per cent more than in the same period in 2023, according to Statistics Finland.
Altogether two million passengers flew through Finnish airports in December 2024.
The total number of passengers in December increased by 9 per cent compared to December 2023.
The number of passengers on international flights increased by 11 per cent and on domestic flights by 3 per cent from the previous year.
In 2024, the volume of air traffic passengers and freight and mail transport was slightly higher than in 2023.
A total of 1.3 million passengers flew through Helsinki Airport and altogether 650,000 passengers flew through other domestic airports in December 2024.
Compared to December 2023, the total number of passengers was 7 per cent higher at Helsinki Airport and 14 per cent higher at other domestic airports.
Seventy-seven per cent of the air traffic passengers travelled on international flights and 23 per cent on domestic flights in December 2024.
The share of passengers on international flights was 83 per cent at Helsinki Airport and 65 per cent in total at other domestic airports. Of all passengers, 87 per cent travelled on scheduled flights.
