Aviation Union (Ilmailualan Unioni - IAU) has announced to abstain from work for two hours a day on March 2, 5 and 7, which will affect the services offered to passengers who require assistance at Helsinki Airport.
The reason for the industrial action is a collective agreement dispute between IAU and the service provider Lassila & Tikanoja.
According to a press release of Finavia, the company that operates the country’s airports, the work stoppage will take place from 3.00pm to 5.00pm everyday on the stipulated dates.
The service for passengers requiring assistance will be handled during the stoppage by special arrangements. But, in spite of these arrangements, there may be congestion in the service and the situation may cause delays for some flights.
Passengers who have need for assistance services at the time listed above are asked to contact their airlines or travel agents well in advance. Advanced registration is important so that special arrangements during the stoppage may be scaled as well as possible.
The potential stoppage does not affect the escort service for children travelling alone or the assistance or escort services subject to charge that have been ordered via the VIP services.
