Flydubai launches Helsinki- Dubai direct flight

Low-cost airline Flydubai has launched direct flight between Helsinki and Dubai Thursday night, according to a press release issued by Finavia, the company operates country´s airport.

The first flight took off in foggy weather last night and the Flydubai airline will operate a year-round service directly to Dubai from Helsinki Airport.

Flydubai’s flight left Helsinki airport towards Dubai at 00:10 Finnish time. The return service left Dubai at 5:25pm local time and arrived at Helsinki at 11:10pm.

“Already this year over 20 million passengers are expected to travel through Helsinki Airport. In spite of the great connectivity, Helsinki Airport has lacked a year-round direct route to Dubai. Hence, we are delighted to open this route”, said Joni Sundelin, Senior Vice-President of Finavia, also Helsinki Airport and route development director.

The carrier will operate the new route on its brand-new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The Helsinki route will be codeshared with Emirates as part of the Emirates’ and Flydubai’s partnership.
