The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel opened last year near the Arctic Circle with a view to offer the guests the unique experience of staying overnight in the forest comfortably has already become popular among the tourists from home and abroad.
The hotel came into operations on November 19, 2016 and since has attracted a significant number of travellers, particularly the nature- and forest-lovers, said the hotel authorities.
“From the very beginning, in December and January, the accommodation facilities were full of boarders and remained almost full in February and early March,” Saila Wilhelmsson, Marketing Manager of SantaPark Arctic World, the company that operates the hotel told the Daily Finland.
Pointing out the extraordinary accommodation features and specialty of the hotel, she said the demand of the hotel among the tourists had remained high during the winter. “All the rooms have already been booked for the upcoming Christmas and winter season.”
The boarders can admire a private view of the northern sky and the forest from the warmth of their suites, hotel sources said.
The illumination of the hotel area is designed so that the guests get the best possible view of the stars and the Northern Lights.
The hotel offers its guests a brand-new way to experience the Arctic Circle from the nest-like atmosphere of the suits that offer an exclusive combination of local traditions, Lappish heritage, and modern Scandinavian design.
The hotel has a number of modern accommodation facilities including interconnected suites and quality twin beds, in addition to five double-bedroom Arctic Glass Houses.
The hotel management said the concept of the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel has its roots in the fragile Arctic nature – the fairytale-like world of SantaPark. The hotel consists of individual accommodation units covered by wooden shingles and standing on tall poles between the threes.
The hotel is part of the SantaPark run by the Finnish couple Ilkka Länkinen and Katja Ikäheimo-Länkinen, who have been working in creating Christmas experiences since 1997.
Their company started with a very detailed and professional Santa Claus service and it has grown into a true Christmas fairytale encompassing several locations offering magical experiences created with true professionalism.
In 2009, the Länkinen couple bought the majority shares in SantaPark, Santa’s underground cavern. After that the services of the company have seen a rapid expansion.
Seventy thousand people from more than 41 countries have been coming every year to enjoy the extraordinary experiences in SantaPark and Joulukka.
The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel demonstrates a cutting-edge concept of accommodation and boosts the local tourism further!
