Palta announces 39-hour strike at 8 airports on Feb 23

The service sector employers union- Palta announced to go for a 39-hour employee strike at eight airports in the country on February 23, said an official press release on Saturday.
The strike was called to press home the demand of Palta to speed up the stalled contract negotiations employees union Finnish Air Traffic Controllers Association (SLJY).
The strike is scheduled to begin at 18:00 o’clock on February 23 and will be ended at 9:00 O’clock on February 25.
Palta informed the National Conciliator about the decision of strike. The association, however, said that the strike will not put impact on flight safety services.
The negotiations regarding the terms and conditions of new job contracts between SLJY and Palta began after expiry of air traffic controllers’ collective agreement on November 30, 2017.
