The cost of the new rail track in the eastern part of Helsinki is estimated at just under 2 billion euros, reported national broadcaster Yle.
Previously Finnish language business outlet Kauppalehti had reported that the construction Eastern rail track based on preliminary estimate would cost 1.7 billion euros.
The director of development unit at the Ministry of Transport and Communications told Yle that the figure is within the range but merely indicative.
A rough estimate of the cost is included in the preliminary study of the rail track which is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
The report concerns the construction of the eastern track from the Helsinki Airport to Porvoo through Kouvola.
