The airports ground and security workers on Wednesday decided to go for strike at country´s airport again on Friday as no amicable solution of the crisis has not yet been found.

The strike may disrupt number of flights operation on the day, according to Finavia, the company which operates airports in the country.

Earlier, the agitating workers cancelled the strike scheduled for Tuesday but the strike from 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm on Friday remained unchanged, said sources.

Detail information regarding the cancellation of flights will be issued later and the passengers are requested to contact their airlines, said Finavia.

Finavia also warned the passengers about possible flights disruption on March 22, 23 and 24 as the prescheduled strike called by the workers remained unchanged till Wednesday.

This strike is caused by the service company Airpro’s new general agreement, which came into force on February 1, in adherence to the Competitiveness Pact.

It is related to the dispute between the Finnish Aviation Union and the service sector employer union Palta about labour agreements in Airpro Oy.

The agreement exists between labour unions JHL and Pardia, and is legally binding for IAU members. IAU was previously a party to the Airpro agreement. It, however, seceded from the Competitiveness Solution and is demanding better benefits for its members.

The employees announced to go for strike from 3.00pm to 7.00 pm on March 17 and from 2.00 pm to 6.00pm everyday from March 22 to March 24, if the stalemate situation is not resolved.
