Outdoor section of Helsinki Airport scenic terrace opens

Finavia announced on Monday that the outdoor section of the Helsinki Airport scenic terrace has opened.

Finavia, the company which operates airports in the country, said the terrace was closed during the winter because of snow and ice.

People can observe aircraft landing and taking off daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The traffic is liveliest in the morning and in the afternoon.

The scenic terrace provides a great view of Runway 1 and 2 as well as of the apron area (the parking area for aeroplanes).

The scenic terrace has two parts: the outside and inside terrace. The warm interior terrace has a soft drink vending machine, a photo exhibition of Helsinki Airport past and present, as well as displays for arrivals and departures.
