Sunny, warm weather forecast during Easter

Easter celebrations will kick off under rare sunny and warm conditions, according to national broadcaster Yle.

Conditions are best to enjoy outdoor activities in south and central parts of the country, where the sun will shine for several days above cloudless sky, said Yle meteorologist Anne Borgström.

There is a possibility for the temperature to soar over 20 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

The weather has been uncharacteristically warm at this time of the year even though Easter is being marked late this year. Most parts of the country are also dry.

"Even though there is still snow in the forest and neither there is no mention of grass fire warning, one should still be very careful," said Borgström.

However, there is no such danger in northern part of the country since snow still covers the land. For instance, Kittilä had 84 centimeters of snow on Thursday morning.

On Thursday, spring's highest temperature of 19.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kemiönsaari in Southwest Finland.
