A strong storm caused havoc in the Oulu region on Saturday and Sunday with wind speed reaching up to 26.2 metres per second, reported Finnish language daily Kaleva.
The strong wind fell down trees and tents as well as causing power outages.
Rescue department in the Oulu region was kept busy as the storm ravaged the area.
According to the Oulu rescue department chief fire fighter on duty Hannu Timonen, the busiest hour was between Sunday midnight and 3:00 in the morning.
The rescue department in Lapland region was, however, not called to task.
The storm also left nearly 1600 Oulu Energia customers without power with the most affected housholds residing north of Oulujoki river.
According to the Met Office, the situation is, however, coming under control as strong low pressure is moving away from northern Ostrobothnia and the wind speed is no longer rising to the levels of storm reading.
