The amount of cyanobacterial blooms has decreased both in the Finnish sea areas and lakes since last week, according to the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE).

In the sea areas, cyanobacteria are mostly mixed in the water, but some surface blooms have been observed in the southern and south-western areas, said a SYKE press release on Thursday.

In lakes, the amount of cyanobacterial observations has decreased clearly, the press release added.
