Mild conditions are forecast for the next week in the country as the southwestern airflow keeps the temperature above normal, reported the Finnish media.
According to the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI), the day temperature will range between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius. The northern parts of the country are, however, forecast to be chillier than elsewhere.
“Temperatures are about 3-4 degrees Celsius warmer than normal and a bit milder than usual,” said the meteorologist on duty, HannuValta.
No heavy rainfall is forecast, however, drizzling and fog may appear in many places.
Due to the warm condition, the snow blanket in the central parts of the country and Northern Ostrobothnia may disappear in the next few days. In northern Lapland, however, more snowfall is forecast on Sunday night
According to Valta, snow is forecast to disappear in the southern parts of Lapland at the beginning of the week. The general picture of the weather is cloudy with no sunshine in sight.
