Skiers in most parts of Lapland have been advised to take caution due to a possibility of avalanches in the region.
The Rescue Department and the forest administration body Metsähallitus have advised skiers to monitor forecasts issued by the Finnish Meteorological Institute and act according to the weather forecast advisory.
According to the forecast issued on Sunday noon, natural avalanches are considered unlikely; however, human-induced avalanches are possible.
The forecast concerns Ruka, Luosto-Pyhä, Ylläs-Levi, Ounas-Pallas, Saariselkä, and Kilpisjärvi.
