The water level in the Kokemäki River’s has risen sharply due to the hanging ice dams, said the Southwest Finland Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.
The water level is currently about 20 centimetres above the annual average flood level.
In Huittinen, river water has spread widely to the fields and is threatening recreational buildings.
If the water level continues to rise, lower residential buildings and cow sheds may be endangered.
The authorities are trying to ease the situation by regulating the Kolsi power plant.
