Kyrönjoki flooding forces closure of roads

The water level in Kyrönjoki River on Saturday reached the flood level, reported the national broadcaster Yle.

The floodgates were opened for the water to flow.

National road 3 was closed for traffic in Jalasjärvi in the afternoon and the traffic was directed to take a detour.

The use of flood embankment to shore up flood waters was termed necessary. It, however, will lead to closure of some small roads in some areas in Ilmajoki.
