Temperature soars to 29.1°C as May heats up

The temperature on Monday rose to 29.1 degrees Celsius, reported the national broadcaster Yle.

It is the highest temperature of May this year recorded in the coastal city of Turku.

The highest-ever temperature in the month was recorded in Lapinjärvi at 31.0 degrees Celsius in 1995.

On average, the month of May sees three days of heat wave.

According to the forecasts, the upcoming Thursday is expected to be hot; however, the weather will cool down on Friday.
