Expo 2020 Dubai unveils mascots

The Expo 2020 Dubai on Thursday unveiled its mascots, which include one magical ghaf tree, two intrepid Emirati children and three helpful robot guardians.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and ruler of Dubai, attended the mascots launching ceremony which took place at the Dubai World Trade Center.
The two children are an eight-year-old girl named Latifa and her nine-year-old brother named Rashid, while the three robots are called Alif, Opti and Terra.
The use of the tree and robots as mascots aims at highliting the expo's focus on environment protection and technological innovation.
Millions of visitors of Expo 2020 Dubai will experience the hospitality for which the UAE is known.
Expo 2020 Dubai is set to be a milestone for the UAE, as it will be attended by 192 participating nations for a celebration under the theme "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future."
The event will feature at least 60 live performances per day, 200-plus dining outlets, daily parades, celebrity chefs, future-shaping tech and so much more from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021.
