Hundreds of angry protesters on Wednesday attacked the headquarters of Dhi-Qar provincial government and set fire in the building on the second day of protests against corruption, lack of basic services and job opportunities, the official television reported.
The demonstrators gathered in front of the provincial government building in the afternoon before they broke into the building in the provincial capital city of Nasriyah, some 375 km south of Baghdad, and set fire into the building, the Iraqiya state-run channel said.
Meanwhile, hundreds of protesters are also rallying outside the provincial government buildings of the provinces of Wasit and Qadsiyah in an attempt to break into the buildings, the channel said.
