Thirty-five foreign pilgrims were killed and four others injured in a bus accident near the Saudi holy city of Madinah, the official Saudi Press Agency reported Thursday.

The accident occurred Wednesday evening when a bus carrying 39 pilgrims of different Asian and Arab nationalities collided with a heavy vehicle in the Al-Akhal Center in Madinah area.

Madinah Governor Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz ordered on Thursday medical care for the victims injured in the fatal bus accident, who were transferred to the Al-Hamna Hospital.

The governor expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
