3 killed at Halloween party shooting in California

Three people were killed and nine injured in a shooting Tuesday night at a Halloween party in Long Beach, California, authorities said.

Long Beach firefighters and police officers responded to the shooting at a residence at about 10:44 pm local time. Three men were confirmed dead and nine others were transported to local hospitals, according to Jake Heflin, public information officer of the Long Beach Fire Department.

He said the scene was "obviously filled with chaos" in a video released by the city of Long Beach.

A local resident told Los Angeles Times that he heard "numerous gunshots," and less than 10 minutes later, "police sirens."

Police were searching for at least one suspect who fled the scene after the shooting, according to Los Angeles Times.
