A Palestinian man was killed on Friday and dozens were injured during clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, medics and eyewitnesses said.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a short text message that Badder Nafla, 19, died after wounded by Israeli soldiers' gunfire during clashes in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem.
Eyewitnesses said that hundreds of Palestinians demonstrated on Friday afternoon in several West Bank cities and villages in rejection to the new U.S. plan for peace in the Middle East, also known as "the Deal of the Century."
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a press statement that over 40 Palestinians were injured on Friday in the clashes with Israeli soldiers who fired tear gas, rubber-coated metal bullets and live ammunition at the demonstrators.
Israeli-Palestinian tension has been growing over the past three days. The Palestinian health ministry said four Palestinians have been killed and dozens were injured in the West Bank since Wednesday.
Palestinian Authority officials accused Israel earlier on Friday of using the U.S. peace plan "to increase its assaults on the Palestinian people, their lands and their holy sites."
