A freight train loaded with 43 containers departed from the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou Friday, the first China-Europe train to resume operation in the city after the Spring Festival.

Loaded with electronic products, household appliances and clothing worth about 5 million U.S. dollars, the train will reach Russia's Vorsino in 14 days, according to the freight train operator, Guangdong GW Holding Group Co., Ltd.

"The journey marks the resumption of the China-Europe train services provided by Guangdong GW, opening up a channel for foreign trade enterprises to enter European countries," said Fang Qichao, chairman of the company.
