Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani contracted the novel coronavirus, Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA) reported on Thursday.
Larijani has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is currently quarantined and being treated, the report said.
Earlier in the day, Iran reported 50,468 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in the country, of which 3,160 have died.
