A Palestinian teenager was killed and six others injured during clashes on Friday between Palestinian young men and Israeli soldiers on the borderline area between Gaza Strip and Israel, medics said.

Ashraf al-Qedra, Gaza health ministry spokesman told reporters that Abdul Rahman Abu Hmeissa, 16, was shot in the head and six others injured by Israeli soldiers gunfire at the borders area between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel.

Every Friday, dozens of teenagers head to the borderline area between Gaza Strip and Israel to protest against more than 10 years of Israeli blockade.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli soldiers opened fire and killed a Palestinian man in the vicinity of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, medics said.

The medics told Xinhua that an Israeli army force directly opened fire at a Palestinian young man at an Israeli army barrier south of the city and killed him.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said the Israeli army prevented their medical crews to reach the young man.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army said the Palestinian young man tired to stab a number of soldiers stationed at the barrier, adding that the soldiers immediately opened fire and killed him.

The shooting of the young man coincided with clashes that broke out in the outskirts of Bethlehem, where 12 Palestinians were injured by Israeli troops' gunfire. Young demonstrators threw stones at the soldiers who responded with gunfire.
