A 19-year-old woman died of COVID-19 on Saturday, becoming the youngest victim of the virus in Israel, reported Xinhua.

The patient suffered from many other severe diseases, including pulmonary hypertension and heart failure, with extreme overweight causing movement difficulty, said Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.

The patient was infected with a massive viral load, and when admitted to the hospital, she immediately needed ventilation.

She was connected to an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine (ECMO) and underwent a series of treatments, including an experimental vaccine, but passed away after a week and a half.

Until her death, the youngest coronavirus victim in Israel was a 26-year-old patient who died on June 14.
