Armed man held near Canadian governor general residence

An armed man was arrested near the official residence of Canadian Governor General Julie Payette in Ottawa Thursday morning, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), reported Xinhua.
The man, who was able to get access to the grounds of the residence at 6:40 a.m. Thursday, was arrested shortly after "without any incident."
"He is currently in custody and is being interviewed," said the RCMP on Twitter.
Police confirmed the governor general was not at her residence.
