Lorry bomb kills 8 soldiers in Afghanistan

Eight soldiers were killed and nine others injured as a lorry bomb targeted a military convoy in Sayed Abad district of Afghansitan's eastern Wardak province on Monday, Defense Ministry confirmed in a statement, reported Xinhua.
"A terrorist riding an explosive-laden lorry detonated it next to a convoy of national army in Jaghato area of Sayed Abad district this afternoon, killing himself and eight soldiers," the statement said.
Nine more soldiers were injured in the blast, the statement added.
The statement didn't accuse any group for the attack.
Taliban militants, who are active in parts of Wardak province with Maidan Shahr as its capital, 30 km west of Kabul, haven't commented.
