Chile reports over 375,000 cases of COVID-19, 10,139 deaths

Chile on Monday reported 375,044 cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection since the onset of the pandemic and 10,139 deaths from the disease, reported Xinhua.

According to the Health Ministry, in the previous 24 hours, tests detected 1,988 new cases and 62 more patients died of the virus.

Currently, 1,280 patients are hospitalized in intensive care units, including 203 in critical condition.

Chilean health authorities said 347,342 people have recovered from the disease and 17,563 cases are considered active.

Chile is under a state of catastrophe declared months ago to better enforce lockdown and social distancing measures with the help of the army and police force, including a nighttime curfew.
