Head of Lebanese Order of Physicians, Charaf Abou Charaf, revealed that hundreds of doctors had visited the syndicate to ask for their files in preparation to emigrate from Lebanon, reported Xinhua on Sunday, quoting Asharq al-Awsat newspaper.

"If this continues, it will constitute a real disaster of the health sector in Lebanon," Abou Charaf was quoted as saying.

The economic and financial crisis prevailing in Lebanon has had a negative impact on Lebanese physicians and their families for several reasons including the fact that the government is incapable of paying the dues of many private and public hospitals.

Also, physicians, like other citizens in the country, are incapable of accessing their deposits due to the unofficial capital control imposed by banks in Lebanon.
