Three people have been killed from a large wildfire in Butte County of California, the United States, reported Xinhua, quoting local media on Wednesday.
Butte County sheriff Kory Honea announced that two people had been found dead at one location and another somewhere else.
According to media reports, one of the three was found in a car and had been trying to escape.
The sheriff's office has issued an emergency evacuation order for several districts as winds continued to spread the fire, NBC broadcaster reported.
Jake Cagle, a fire chief, told media that firefighters have been focusing on saving lives and homes instead of trying to halt the fire's advance.
Since the middle of August, fires in California have killed 11 people and destroyed more than 3,600 structures, while forcing thousands to leave their homes.
Local media's statistics showed that California has set a record with nearly 1 million hectares (2.5 million acres) already burned this year, and historically the worst of the wildfire season doesn't begin until fall.
The U.S. National Interagency Fire Center informed that the area of wildfires in the states of California, Washington and Oregon has exceeded 1.3 million hectares (3.2 million acres).
