Saudi Arabian Health Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah on Monday warned of a rise in COVID-19 cases in the coming weeks if precautionary measures are not followed, reported Xinhua.

In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency, he said several countries are witnessing a strong second wave of infections when precautionary steps are not followed.

The Sudanese health ministry announced on Monday 381 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number in the kingdom to 342,583.

The number of recoveries rose to 328,895 after 357 new ones were reported, while the death toll from the disease reached 5,201 with the registration of 16 new fatalities.

Saudi Arabia has controlled the spread of coronavirus with a series of steps, including full and partial curfews and suspension of many activities.

The daily cases in Saudi Arabia have decreased dramatically from more than 25,000 daily cases in the middle of the year to fewer than 400 in recent weeks.
