LA Art Show, the U.S. west coast's largest art fair, returned to the Los Angeles Convention Center in Southern California as an in-person summer show on Thursday, reported Xinhua.

For over 25 years, the fair has been the most comprehensive international contemporary art show in America, attracting an elite roster of national and international galleries, acclaimed artists, highly regarded curators, architects, design professionals, along with discerning collectors.

More than 80 exhibiting galleries and museums from North and South America, Asia and Europe are expected to take part in the four-day event this year.

Long recognized as the kickoff for the Los Angeles art season every February, the fair has been rescheduled to summer this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to organizers.

Kassandra Voyagis, the fair's executive director, expressed her commitment in a release earlier this month to hosting "a spectacular and safe event that will boost the local art market as we emerge from COVID."

"After we've been locked out for a year and a half, we are glad to see beautiful art works from all over the world," a visitor, David Dietch, told Xinhua, noting that it's wonderful that the fair inspires people to feel something different in the pandemic.

Some visitors noted they remain cautious even after vaccination and wear masks all the time during the visit as the Delta variant continues to spread in the United States.
