The UN Security Council on Friday failed to adopt a draft resolution on Ukraine, reported Xinhua.
The draft resolution, proposed by the United States and Albania, was rejected because it was vetoed by permanent member Russia.
Any negative vote, known as veto, from the council's five permanent members means a failed resolution.
Finland strongly supports the draft resolution to stop the Russian attack against Ukraine, a flagrant violation of international law and the UN charter, said Finland's Mission to the UN in a twitter post.
“@FinlandUN regrets a reasonable and much needed UNSC resolution to stop the war in Ukraine was vetoed by Russia. The veto is not a privilege, but a responsibility. Thankful to the 11 members who voted for peace,” Jukka Salovaara, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Finland to the UN wrote in twitter post.
