Blast kills 8, injures 18 in Kabul

Eight people have been confirmed dead and 18 others injured in a blast which rocked western edge of Afghanistan's capital city of Kabul on Friday, Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said on social media, reported Xinhua.

The blast took place in the Sar-e-Kariz area of Police District 6, Zadran said.

According to the official, the explosive device was placed in a handcart and targeted passers-by.

A couple of days ago, several militants of the Islamic State group were killed in a security forces operation in Kabul.
