Four people were killed and 25 others wounded after a bomb explosion ripped through a mosque next to Afghanistan's Interior Ministry here on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.

"A blast occurred at a mosque near the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday. Four worshippers were martyred and 25 others were injured," Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi Takor confirmed on his Twitter account, adding that an investigation is underway.

Nafi also noted that the mosque was outside the Interior Ministry compound where ordinary people and employees of the ministry often used to offer their prayers.

This is the fourth blast in Kabul over the past week.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.
