The US industrial group General Electric (GE) has settled its legal disputes with German rival Siemens Gamesa over patents for wind turbine technology, according to its own statement, reported dpa.

The companies have reached an amicable settlement that resolves conflicts in the US and Europe, GE announced in Boston on Friday.

In future, the companies want to grant each other reciprocal licences worldwide, it said. GE did not give details of the settlement for reasons of confidentiality.

Siemens Energy subsidiary Siemens Gamesa had sued GE in 2020 for patent infringements. Last year, a US court imposed sanctions on GE.
